Happy New Year and New Decade for 2020! I hope you had wonderful holidays with your family and friends.

We had a great time with our family because my mom was here from Germany and my brother was here from Australia.  Even though Christmas holidays are something I look forward to every year, I still find it to be very stressful as to what to buy and where to find gifts for everybody.   Almost all of my family members birthdays AND my kids birthdays are before & after Christmas…so, as you can imagine, I am usually broke by the time January rolls around (lol)!

 
 

New Years is always the time when we make new resolutions, and unfortunately they usually only last a few weeks.  I’m not judging you if that’s your situation, as I am guilty of it as well.

So this year I decided to try something different and make quarterly goals instead of ‘big’ resolutions.  I find that the shorter time-frame makes our goals more achievable – probably because we are being more realistic with how big we set the goals in the first place.

So here’s suggestion if you want to try this technique in 2020:
First:  Make a list of all the goals you have not achieved in 2019 and reflect on them.
Second: Set 3 goals for the next quarter then write then 3 actions steps to achieve them.
The goals should be very specific and time-bound.
Third:  Take some simple actions on each goal right away.
Fourth: Check in with yourself after 3 months and see how you’re doing (and modify if needed).

I hope this works for you too.

I want to share with you one of my goals for 2020, and also for the next quarter.
One of my goals for 2020 is to create a certain amount of passive income by December 31st 2020.

How? By investing in multi-family apartment buildings.
My Action Steps Are: Finding good deals and connecting with like-minded people and investors.

I know that 2020 will be an amazing year, and I wish it is for you as well.

Capital Gains

One of the ‘pleasant’ dilemmas that my investor
partners face when we cash out of a deal is what
to do with their PROFITS.

On one hand, it’s tempting to take the cash and
buy a new car, boat, vacation, or other ‘doodad’
(as Robert Kiyosaki calls them in his book Rich
Dad, Poor Dad).

On the other hand, it usually makes a LOT more
sense to use those profits to buy more income-
producing real estate.  That’s called “re-investment”.
